About The Position

The Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor at Brazosport ISD is a full-time position based at Brazoswood High School, dedicated to fostering leadership and citizenship among high school students through the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program. This role is not limited to traditional classroom instruction; it encompasses a wide range of responsibilities that include conducting academic classes, supervising Leadership Development Requirements (LDRs), and engaging in community service activities. Instructors are expected to create a robust program that includes various experiential learning activities such as drill teams, academic bowls, and marksmanship teams, which are essential for the development of cadets. Instructors will be responsible for teaching aerospace science and leadership education curricula, while also serving as mentors and role models for cadets. They will supervise cadets during official AFJROTC events, community service activities, and other unit functions, ensuring that all participants adhere to the highest standards of conduct. The position requires a commitment to personal and professional excellence, as instructors are seen as ambassadors of the Air Force, representing its values and standards in all interactions. The role demands significant organizational and interpersonal skills, as instructors will prepare and deliver lessons, coordinate after-school activities, and lead off-campus events. Instructors must also maintain a professional military appearance and comply with Air Force standards. Additionally, they are required to complete any state or local certification requirements and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance their teaching effectiveness and program delivery.
