About The Position

The Airflow Operator is responsible for performing airflow testing on manufactured turbine engine components.

Requirements

  • United States Citizen or Green card holder
  • Desire to learn and work in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong listening a nd communication skills; verbal and written skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Novice understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement Methodologies
  • Demonstrated self-starter
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn Manufacturing ERPs (Job Boss)
  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • May be required to move, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and/or complete repetitive motions during course of work.
  • Frequent walking, standing and repetitive motion
  • Required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as ones by carpenters, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.
  • Inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • Noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • Vibration: Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
  • Hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
  • Oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.

Responsibilities

  • Perform air flow testing on turbines engine parts following operation sheet
  • Confirm serial number of part and record the number
  • Load part onto airflow fixture; run machine and review the reading
  • Ensure part meets specifications, if it doesn’t notify supervisor
  • Produce quality and quantity of work in accordance with Company requirements.
  • Responsible for accurately completing paperwork related to airflow process
  • Perform duties with good machining and operating practices at all times.
  • Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat, orderly condition including operator maintenance sheets.
  • Proactively solve process or system related problems and coordinate with other team members/departments when necessary for resolution of problems
  • Comply with OSHA, health, safety and environment requirements.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.
