About The Position
As an Air Export Gateway Specialist at DHL Global Forwarding, you will play a crucial role in the movement of our customer's air export shipments. This position is based in Doral, FL, and involves performing various activities within the gateway operations to ensure timely and efficient handling of shipments. You will coordinate and ensure timely bookings with airlines, schedule and monitor the handling of incoming and outgoing consolidations, and follow up with airlines to ensure that consolidations fly as booked. Your responsibilities will also include preparing export documentation in accordance with country requirements, ensuring that updated consolidation schedules are maintained, and maximizing margins through effective ULD build-up. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation of essential documents such as the Certificate of Origin, Cargo Manifest, NAFTA Certificate, AWB, ITAR, Hazardous Material, and Perishable documents, among others. You will also be tasked with compliant filing of AES (Automated Export System) with US customs and maintaining ongoing communication with feeder stations and overseas offices regarding shipment movements. This position requires exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and strong follow-up abilities, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
