About The Position

The Apple AIML residency is a year-long program designed for experts in various fields to apply their domain expertise in machine learning and AI to innovate and develop groundbreaking products and experiences. Residents will engage in hands-on projects, collaborate with Apple teams, and gain valuable insights through mentorship and coursework in machine learning and AI.

Requirements

• Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, Objective-C, C++, Swift, and/or R.
• Experience completing a moderate-sized software project.
• Demonstrated ability to connect and collaborate with others.
• Graduate degree in a STEM field or equivalent industry experience in software engineering.

Nice To Haves

• Academic, research, or industry experience in computer vision, large language models/generative AI, machine learning & ML research, or LLM optimization.
• Thesis, capstone project, internship, co-op, or proven experience in relevant fields.

Responsibilities

• Integrate pioneering large language models (LLMs) into Apple products.
• Develop innovative modeling-based solutions to improve runtime latency, training efficiency, memory optimization, and decoding speed.
• Craft efficient multi-modal LLMs and address unique challenges in image and audio generation.
• Explore novel optimization techniques to enhance LLM performance across diverse data representations.
