About The Position

As Engineering Manager for the Search and Knowledge Quality team, you will be responsible for leading the development of the ranking and retrieval technologies that power question answering and search across Apple products. You will guide your team in designing and evolving large-scale machine learning and data systems applied to graph data, web documents, and diverse structured and unstructured data sources. In this role, you will collaborate with world-renowned experts in large-scale data management, machine learning systems, and knowledge extraction, driving advancements in question answering and search, as well as the underlying ranking and retrieval technologies. You will set technical direction, foster deep cross-functional collaboration, and deliver products that delight users daily while significantly impacting how information is accessed and applied across Apple's ecosystem.

Requirements

• Proven background in Machine Learning, NLP, and large-scale Search.
• Deep expertise in retrieval and ranking models and the broader search stack.
• Track record of delivering production-quality systems at scale.
• Strong engineering leadership and fundamentals.
• Experience building and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Excellent product vision and sound business judgment.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
