About The Position

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Danville State Hospital is looking for dedicated individuals to work in our facility. We are seeking hardworking, enthusiastic, and compassionate employees to join our team. The Danville State Hospital has many opportunities for Aide-Trainees. Requirements

• No previous experience needed, training provided.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening is required.
• Submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Attend training sessions designed to teach employees how to care for and support consumers in a mental health treatment setting.
• Complete paid classroom and on-the-job training in an actual consumer setting.
• Upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period, be promoted to a Psychiatric Aide (PA) with responsibility for the full scope of care and support to consumers living at the facility.
