About The Position

The position involves assisting the teacher with instructional needs as appropriate. The role requires maintaining effective working relationships with students and staff, managing confidential materials, and performing clerical tasks. The individual must be in good physical and emotional condition to handle the demands of the job, which includes working with students with special needs and maintaining emotional control under stress.

Requirements

• Bilingual may be required for respective positions.
• College hours for Title I campus: 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test.
• College hours: 15 or high school diploma or GED (with a passing score of 464 on the ParaPro test) for Non-Title I campus.
• Minimum clerical skills.
• Good physical and emotional condition.
• Work with confidential material.
• Paraprofessional Educational Aide II certificate required once employed.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with the preparation, implementation, and data collection of student academic, behavioral, and functional goals, accommodations, modifications, and delivery of supports.
• Deliver accommodations, modifications, and other supports to students with special education services in whole group, small group, or individually, as described in the IEP.
• Assist teachers with classroom management and behavioral plans.
• Maintain confidential student records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs.
