About The Position

Overview Enthusiastically represents the YMCA by displaying a positive attitude, maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job through the four character values of caring, honesty, inclusion, respect and responsibility. The Site Aide is responsible for assisting the Site Supervisor and/or Assistant Site Supervisor in preparing, implementing, and supervising activities for the children at the assigned school site.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age with a high school education.
• Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive toward the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children, be mature, be responsible, be organized, act as a role model for the children, and demonstrate a commitment to the YMCA philosophy and core values (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility).

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and implementation and clean up of all activities.
• Help create a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Assist Site Supervisor/Assistant Site Supervisor in supervising children during play as well as during quiet homework time.
• Be a role model illustrating YMCA philosophy and values.
• Know emergency procedures, as well as resources such as emergency cards, medical forms and allergy lists.
• Maintain punctuality, good attendance and appropriate attire.
