About The Position

AIDE - CREATIVE EXPLORERS DAYCARE Job Title: Aide - Creative Explorers Daycare Reports to: Program Director Deparment/Campus: Assigned Campus Primary Purpose: Direct and support the learning experiences of students participating in the program. Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to get certified within?30 days?of being hired? Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to read and verbally communicate with children, staff, and parents Ability to work with groups of children in a positive manner Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Effective organizational and communication skills Ability to relate to children and adults with courtesy, respect, acceptance, compassion, and patience Experience: Pre-Service Training Certificate or documented?childcare?experience? Major Responsibilities and Duties: Plan and supervise a 30-minute homework period and snack time. Use effective teaching strategies to address different learning styles and individual student needs Implement classroom management strategies and enforce the school discipline plan. Know and comply with DFPS minimum standards and all state/district regulations. Maintain a respectful and positive environment that supports student growth and cooperation. Keep accurate student records, including attendance, discipline, and academic information. Supervise students closely, knowing each child’s name, age, abilities, and location at all times. Follow state sanitation guidelines, including child hygiene and facility cleaning. Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of program equipment. Other Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Display tolerance necessary for accepting supervision for and criticism of job performance. Work in harmony with supervisory, faculty, and peer personnel. Use professional information discreetly and judiciously. Support and follow administrative and Board policy. Represent the school system to the community in a positive, professional way. Maintain a sincere, friendly attitude toward patrons. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)] Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion: Frequent walking Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours This document describes the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
