About The Position

Currently, Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time, PLC HMI Electrical Controls Engineer to work in our Project site in Tampa, Florida. The PLC HMI Electrical Controls Engineer will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation Engineering.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in water treatment or related systems preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Allen Bradley PLCs’ Factory Talk HMIs or their equivalent, like Siemens PLCs.
  • Knowledge of the engineering processes and standards required for the proper operation of water/wastewater treatment plants and technology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and maintain a positive attitude and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks or projects.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to use a personal computer (MS Word & Excel) at a high level of proficiency.
  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with the customer.
  • Maintain construction supervision, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing of water & wastewater treatment equipment, evaporators, crystallizers, and thermal desalination systems.
  • Experience in calibration of instrumentation, PLC logic review and troubleshooting, and operating interface setup and troubleshooting.
  • Supervise the operation and maintenance of operating plants.
  • Commissioning of rotating equipment such as pumps, centrifugal pumps, and blowers.
  • Troubleshoot water treatment systems (pumps, motors, blower, valves & piping).
  • Interpreting lab results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
