About The Position

As a Staff Software Engineer at Zocdoc, you will partner with our Co-Founder and senior engineers on a new initiative to build an AI-based voice agent that answers inbound phone calls to hospitals and doctor's offices. This role offers a unique opportunity for experienced software engineers to transition into AI development, with mentorship provided. You will be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality software, learning to work with LLMs, designing scalable applications, and contributing to consumer-facing products.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with a strong proficiency in C#
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
• An ownership mindset and a proven track record of learning new technologies quickly
• Enthusiasm and passion for learning AI/ML technologies
• Analytical horsepower and a natural curiosity
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining high-quality software that will gradually incorporate AI capabilities
• Learning how to work with LLMs while continuing to deliver solid engineering work
• Designing scalable, maintainable applications using modern software practices
• Collaborating with Zocdoc’s most talented engineers to learn and gradually take on AI-related projects
• Contributing to the end-to-end development of consumer-facing products
• Building products designed to scale quickly
