This Position reports to: R&D Principal Engineer As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in San Jose, CA. Please note that no relocation assistance or stipend will be offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location. Candidates are expected to manage their own commuting arrangements. You will be mainly accountable for:

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a master's or bachelor's degree program in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Software Engineering, or a related field in the United States.
• Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
• Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Exhibit the capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance, reliable, testable and maintainable code.
• Participating in all aspects of software development activities, including design, coding, code review, testing, bug fixing, and code/API documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and participate in daily or weekly stand ups and meetings.
• Grow with the support of your team and help others on the team grow by providing thoughtful feedback and uplifting those around you.
• Work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced development team, with clear, positive, and constructive communication.
