In this role, you will responsible for supporting the Systems and Development team in the Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) of our Maxwell satellite. Responsibilities will include evaluating payload designs, overseeing integration and development activities, and verifying compliance with system requirements. You will contribute to the creation of technical documentation and develop and execute AI&T plans and procedures, assist with hands-on integration and testing of space systems.

  • Assisting the Systems and Development team in supporting Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) of demonstration satellite at the Viasat facilities.
  • Provide support by evaluating payload designs, overseeing integration / development efforts, and assessing requirements compliance through verification activities.
  • Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, briefs customer as required.
  • Support the development and execution of AI&T plans and procedures.
  • Assist with integration and testing of space systems, including setup, troubleshooting, and data collection.
  • Participate in technical reviews and provide input to ensure system requirements are met (TRR, etc.).
  • Collaborate with design, systems, and test engineers to verify integrated performance of spaceflight hardware.
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering or relevant space vehicle or satellite AI&T experience.
  • Experience with System test software (e.g., OpenC3-COSMOS).
  • Experience with space satellite systems and EO payloads.
  • Experience with how space systems are designed, specified, developed, manufactured, and tested.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware integration and software-hardware interfacing.
  • Experience supporting environmental test campaigns (vibe, thermal vacuum, shock, EMI, EMS, Self-Compatibility).
  • Comfortable with rapid prototyping, iterative build/test cycles, and working across disciplines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Experience working within flight hardware lab environment.
  • Familiarity with space system design and test processes, from prototyping to flight qualification to include environmental testing (thermal, vibration, vacuum).
  • Exposure to Agile development, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Digital Engineering.
