About The Position

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing enterprise-level artificial intelligence (AI) architectures that support safe, reliable, and compliant nuclear operations. This role establishes technical standards, reference architectures, and design principles to ensure AI solutions are secure, explainable, auditable, and aligned with nuclear regulatory and quality assurance requirements. The AI Solutions Architect serves as a technical authority, working across engineering, operations, IT, cybersecurity, quality, and regulatory organizations to ensure AI technologies are applied conservatively and consistently throughout the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field (Preferred)
  • Without the above degree, 5 additional years in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field may be considered.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML frameworks, MLOps principles, and data architecture best practices.
  • Strong grasp of cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI governance principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—able to work fluidly between technical and executive audiences.
  • Strategic problem-solver who can balance innovation with risk management and operational stability.
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional collaboration and digital solution delivery.
  • Accept ERO position as needed.
  • Accept outage position as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access if needed.
  • Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.

Responsibilities

  • Define the enterprise AI architecture strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with IT modernization and digital transformation goals.
  • Design scalable AI/ML platforms, pipelines, and integration patterns spanning cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
  • Partner with business and IT leaders to translate organizational goals into AI solution designs that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Lead the architecture and governance of data, models, and AI services, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish standards for AI pipeline development, model deployment, and lifecycle management within enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, data engineering, and application teams to integrate AI capabilities into ERP, analytics, and business process ecosystems.
  • Evaluate and recommend AI tools, platforms, and frameworks that align with existing enterprise architecture standards (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Oracle, SAP).
  • Provide technical oversight for AI implementation projects, ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Support training and adoption of AI technologies across IT and business units, promoting a culture of innovation and responsible AI use.
  • Stay aware of emerging trends in enterprise AI, digital workflows, and automation to continuously optimize the technology landscape.
