The AI Software Engineering Intern will work with seasoned professionals in Reuters to create applications of AI and Machine Learning techniques in News gathering, production, distribution and processing.

  • Work on the problems important to Reuters while being afforded the opportunity to gain valuable insight into these complex problems.
  • Work in a cloud environment embedded in a global team on problems that can include data collection, formatting, distribution, summarization, language translation, continuous integration and deployment.
  • Create systems that interface with small and large language models to create tools that assist our journalists with their workflows.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally to both technical and non-technical users.
  • Strong interest in creating software systems that employ Machine Learning and Generative AI in a cloud computing environment.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and communicate issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of an agile development team.
