About The Position

Medica is seeking a hands-on AI Platform Engineer to help build and scale our next-generation AI agents and infrastructure. You'll work on complex systems that power AI-driven healthcare solutions - for our members, providers and employees, that improve the healthcare experience end-to-end. This role is ideal for hands on builders who thrive on ownership, love solving technical and business problems, and are on the cutting edge of software.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field.
• 3 years of work experience beyond degree.

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of experience developing production-grade software using Python, Go, or similar backend languages.
• Demonstrated ability to work with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including provisioning and scaling under guidance or established patterns.
• Hands-on experience deploying infrastructure using Terraform or other declarative IaC tools.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Exposure to modern DevOps and observability tooling, including GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, implementing and deploying AI pipelines and systems—from evaluation setup and benchmarking to integration with products.
• Focus on building reliable, observable and safe components.
• Collaborate on prototyping and building production grade AI-powered features and consumer-facing systems.
• Contribute to solving healthcare and technical challenges by applying modern AI tools and frameworks.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to code reviews.
• Learn and apply engineering best practices, and support platform development through clean, maintainable code.
• Stay current with AI trends and tools.
• Explore new approaches and share learnings with the team.
• Support adoption of promising technologies that enhance platform and enterprise capabilities.
