About The Position

As an AI Researcher on this team, you will create novel threat intelligence from open source and open weight AI supply chain sources. Requirements

  • A PhD in computer science, or related fields or Master’s with 2 years of related industry experience, or Bachelor’s with 4 years of related industry experience
  • Software engineering experience in programming languages such as Python or Golang
  • Experience in ML concepts like bias and variance, supervised & unsupervised learning, Generative AI

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing software for a security/identity/privacy product
  • Experience deploying workloads in a cloud environment: GCP, Azure, AWS
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Familiar with traditional ML frameworks like PyTorch
  • Experience reading papers in AI/ML and/or security and translating to prototype systems
  • Comfortable with fast iterative style development in an environment that requires autonomous thinking, risk taking and bias for action
  • Ability to use the latest GenAI technologies and creative prompting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze emerging AI systems, focusing on applications and environments related to security and safety
  • Develop a platform for AI intelligence gathering, data collection, model fine tuning, evaluation and other AI related needs
  • Work on purpose-built security foundational models
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of researchers and engineers to translate research ideas into product features. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to our overall machine learning culture as an early member of the team.

  • Non-exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees
  • Exempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
  • 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
  • Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
  • Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
