General Summary Eisai is seeking a motivated and curious intern to join our Research & Development (R&D) IT team. In this role, you will work closely with Eisai IT Team Leads and cross-functional colleagues to explore and evaluate emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms—including tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT—in support of our RSQM (Regulatory, Safety, Quality, and Medical) business functions. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity for a student currently enrolled in a technical degree program to build practical experience with AI technologies while gaining exposure to pharmaceutical R&D operations.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution in a relevant field (Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Data Science, or related discipline)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be a rising junior or senior
  • Ability to work onsite at our Nutley, NJ office three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday)
  • Local candidates preferred due to the onsite requirement

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the RSQM IT Lead and team members to identify and catalog AI use cases that can deliver value to IT and business stakeholders.
  • Document high-level requirements, success criteria, and business value for identified AI use cases.
  • Assess, test, and set up AI platforms and tools for prioritized use cases, including designing and refining prompts or lightweight models where applicable.
  • Demonstrate and present AI tools to IT and business teams, helping stakeholders understand potential applications and benefits.
