About The Position

Maxar is currently seeking a Lead Product Manager for AI/ML Models to join our team in Westminster, CO, Washington D.C., or Herndon, VA. In this role, you will lead the creation of existing and AI/ML models, from the idea stage, through launch, to end of life for Maxar's portfolio of Insights. The position involves close interaction with our Applied Science (AI/ML/Data Science) Team, key customers and Go-To-Market, marketing, product strategy, product partnership, software development, and operations team members. You will be the industry expert as it applies to AI/ML models on spatial data, performing market analysis, gathering and driving product requirements, prioritizing feature implementations and turning vision into reality. Ultimately, you will work directly with our in-house Applied Science team to build AI/ML models that fill gaps in the market and solidify Maxar's market leadership position.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, an Earth Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, or relevant field.
• Minimum of 7 years related work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years product management experience.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.

• Experience working with business intelligence tools, decision engines, and or other products that deal with complex workflows and dependencies.
• Experience working directly with customers to apply machine learning and other technologies to solve business problems and increase value.
• MBA or advanced degree.
• Product team leadership experience working in a complex environment.

• Ability to work independently with a high degree of organization and attention-to-detail.
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance if requested.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap for Maxar's AI Models, including planning quarterly releases, backlog grooming, and prioritizing key customer requests.
• Lead sales, technical product management, and engineering team members to develop top-quality products by serving as the bridge between customers/sales and engineering.
• Conduct research to identify customer needs and market gaps influencing our business and our customers.
• Analyze the competition, market trends, and execute on strategies to be the market leader in geospatial and predictive analytics.
• Define, drive, and communicate product roadmaps aligned with the corporate strategy, as well as new and existing capabilities.
• Partner closely with Applied Science and Engineering to prioritize work based on market demands and maximizing benefit to the business.
• Provide product requirements that can be used in an Agile framework with Maxar engineering and operations teams.
• Lead the development of value propositions and sales tools to be used by the sales team.
• Work closely with marketing and brand on external messaging and naming for product.
• Lead cross-functional rollout and go-to-market of products and new feature sets.
• Train all customer-facing employees on product details, value proposition, and sales techniques.
• Serve as the technical expert on your product while working directly with customers.
• Work with sales and finance to accurately build business cases to forecast and monitor the success of products.
• Set and regularly evaluate product pricing.
• Represent your product through any Maxar-wide prioritization processes.
• Ensure legal requirements are met, and any risks are mitigated through collaboration with legal.
