Egnyte is seeking a Software Engineer to work on cutting-edge AI/ML projects, contributing to the development and integration of Generative AI and machine learning solutions at scale. As a Software Engineer, you will focus on designing, implementing, and deploying AI systems to enhance Egnyte’s platform capabilities. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges, optimize AI workflows, and ensure seamless delivery of solutions.

  • Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML features for Egnyte’s platform.
  • Build and optimize Generative AI solutions, such as NLP-based models, to enhance user experiences and platform functionalities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product and Data Science, to translate business requirements into AI-driven solutions.
  • Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Write clean, efficient, and production-ready code, following best practices in software engineering.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies and apply them to relevant projects.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering practices across the team.
  • Monitor and maintain deployed models, ensuring continuous improvement and reliability.
  • 3+ years as an full-time Engineer at a SaaS or Software company (excluding Co-op, internships and academic research).
  • Strong foundation in computer science, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Programming experience using Java and integrating AI/ML models into production
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques, including Generative AI (RAG pipelines, LLMs, fine-tuning, and prompt engineering).
  • Experience working with Python and using ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow/Keras, and Hugging Face.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as GCP or AWS, and distributed computing environments.
  • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes.
  • Solid communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to be in office 3 days per week.
  • Familiarity with LangChain, OpenAI APIs, or other Generative AI platforms.
  • Experience with additional programming languages such as Go or Scala.
  • Exposure to ML pipelines and frameworks like Kubeflow.
  • Knowledge of computer vision or multimodal machine learning techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
