About the position

The AI/ML Engineer II at Niagara is responsible for designing and implementing Generative AI tools, particularly focusing on Large Language Models (LLM) and other AI applications aimed at automating project management. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop innovative AI/ML applications, optimize Machine Learning Operations (ML Ops) for predictive maintenance, and manage essential data engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Generative AI tools and Large Language Models (LLM).
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and project managers to build AI/ML applications.
• Implement and evaluate AI/ML models and algorithms, including data preprocessing and model training.
• Define data requirements and establish data governance practices for AI/ML systems.
• Document project requirements, methodologies, and outcomes, preparing technical reports and user guides.
• Research and innovate by staying updated with advancements in AI/ML technologies.
• Develop automation frameworks for efficient data acquisition and processing.
• Design and develop data modeling processes and optimize data storage using mathematical models.
• Collaborate with IT and Manufacturing Information Systems for project implementation.
• Conduct testing and validation of applications before launch.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in Python, R, or another programming language.
• 2-4 years of experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• 2+ years of experience in Industrial ML/Automation/Data Science or related fields.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• 2+ years of experience with natural language processing (NLP).
• 2+ years of experience with Deep Learning, Computer Vision, and Reinforcement Learning.
• 2+ years of experience with ethical considerations in machine learning.

Nice-to-haves

• 3-5 years of experience in Python, R, or another programming language.
