The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong working knowledge of software engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to support the Applied AI organization as well as the LAIC's broader product portfolio. This Applied AI organization is composed of small, agile teams that rapidly mature solutions from research prototypes to fielded systems. The selected candidate will focus on developing solutions that harness artificial intelligence to deliver differentiating capabilities for our customers. This role will encompass every phase of the software development lifecycle from requirements generation to flight testing. This may entail: Research into state-of-the-art AI, ML, Autonomy and CV techniques. Software system design and implementation using TDD. Optimization for deployment onto low SWaP embedded systems. Integration with UAVs, UGVs, and other target platforms. Live system demonstration at flight events and other engagements. The software systems span a broad range of Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) from proof-of-concepts and prototypes to production solutions demonstrated to internal and external stakeholders. The selected candidate can expect to utilize modern ML paradigms drawn from computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning to solve the complex problems faced by our customers. The selected candidate must have a strong work ethic and exhibit effective time management and interpersonal skills.
