About The Position
AI Fund is a venture studio founded by Dr. Andrew Ng in 2017, dedicated to building AI companies that advance humanity. With a backing of $176 million from top-tier global corporations and VC firms, we are at the forefront of AI innovation. We are seeking a Principal to join our investment team, who will play a crucial role in ideating and validating new business concepts, building business cases, and supporting Founders in Residence (FIRs) during the company building process. This hybrid role based in Palo Alto requires a proactive individual with a growth mindset and strong analytical skills to navigate the complexities of early-stage company development. In this position, you will be responsible for carrying out ideation and early product validation, working closely with partners to quickly assess the viability of business ideas. This includes generating candidate business concepts, prototyping, and conducting customer interviews. For promising ideas, you will build a comprehensive business case that includes market analysis, initial business models, and go-to-market strategies, culminating in a pitch deck that outlines the business's vision and minimum viable product. You will also assist in recruiting FIRs, explaining business ideas to potential founders, and supporting them through the initial phases of the project. As both a product and program manager, you will ensure effective communication, track milestones, and report updates to the Venture Advisor and Partner. Your role will also involve customer discovery, identifying needs, researching competitors, and building financial models to support investment decisions at the conclusion of the Build Stage. Your ongoing support will be vital as the new portfolio company grows, builds its product, and navigates challenges toward securing its first round of financing.
