About The Position

At PSS Cross Country Infrastructure Solutions, every team member plays a critical role in delivering the products, equipment, and expertise that keep America’s infrastructure projects moving forward. As an AI Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building and operationalizing practical AI solutions across our technology stack — spanning SQL Server, Railway, LLMs, AWS Bedrock, and Power BI. You will own the full lifecycle of AI delivery, from intake and data readiness through prototype, production deployment, and ongoing monitoring, delivering measurable impact and strong governance at every step .

Requirements

Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or computer engineering.
3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, data engineering, analytics engineering, or equivalent hands-on delivery.
Strong SQL (advanced querying, performance awareness) and Python (data wrangling, APIs, automation).
Practical experience building and evaluating ML solutions (scikit-learn or equivalent) with a strong understanding of validation and metrics.
GenAI experience with AWS Bedrock (or comparable), including prompt patterns and RAG concepts (embeddings, chunking, retrieval evaluation).
Experience deploying REST APIs, using Git, and supporting production operations (logging, monitoring, incident response).
Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions with clear written documentation.
Working knowledge of frontier AI model solutions (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Cortex AI).

Nice To Haves

Power BI experience (data models, measures, refresh/publishing, governance).
Familiarity with Railway deployments, containerization, CI/CD, and cloud security (IAM, RBAC).
Experience with data quality frameworks, catalog/lineage practices, and model/experiment tracking.

Responsibilities

Build AI solutions end-to-end: take use cases from intake to data readiness to prototype to production deployment to monitoring.
Design and maintain reliable data pipelines and curated tables/views from SQL Server and other sources for analytics and model features.
Develop AWS Bedrock-powered GenAI and RAG solutions (summarization, extraction, Q&A, classification) with guardrails and evaluation frameworks.
Publish business-ready outputs to Power BI — semantic models, refresh strategies, and KPI definitions — and embed insights into workflows.
Deploy and productionize models and services via REST APIs, scheduled jobs, and event-driven workflows; maintain logging, monitoring, and runbooks.
Define evaluation metrics, test plans, and acceptance criteria; monitor quality, drift, latency, and cost.
Enforce security and governance standards: least-privilege access, PII handling, auditability, and documented data lineage.
Partner with Sales, Operations, CSD, and Finance to define requirements, drive adoption, and maintain the AI delivery backlog.
Maintain a clean, organized, and secure development environment.
Ensure all systems and tools are used safely, responsibly, and maintained properly.
