As a Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll help shape the future of AI at Best Buy. You’ll work on real-world problems that impact millions of customers, using your skills in machine learning and software engineering to build smart, scalable solutions. This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate across teams, dive deep into data, and bring innovative ideas to life. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location.   • Designing and developing large-scale AI solutions leveraging state-of-the-art techniques
  • Utilizing broad and deep knowledge of machine learning and software engineering to contribute to the roadmap of Best Buy’s core AI capabilities
  • Building real products that influence and enhance the lives of millions of people and drive and deliver tens of millions of dollars in impact to Best Buy’s bottom line
  • Optimizing inference latency to enable real-time ML serving for millions of Best Buy customers daily
  • Working with both the ML Science and Data Engineering teams to design the training/serving data schema for input features as well as Request/Response data contracts during inference.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 years of experience in ML/AI, data engineering, or software development
  • 3 years of experience building, deploying, and serving real-time ML/AI models with ultra-low latency and high throughput, as resilient, scalable, cloud native services
  • 2 years of experience building data engineering pipelines, ML/AI driven products or other related functions (e.g. software engineering, data science)
  • 2 years of Python and SQL skills
  • 2 years of experience in software design, test-driven development, and implementation using a general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, Rust, C++, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, and Gen AI
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field plus 2 years experience in ML/AI
  • 5 years of professional experience
  • Experience with GCP, AWS, or multi-cloud setups
  • Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLFlow, Vertex AI, or similar tools
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub actions
  • Open source contributions or a strong GitHub portfolio
