About The Position

AI Community Workforce Trainer: Role: The Trainer supports Grayson College's mission to Connect, Commit, Complete by designing, delivering, and evaluating training that strengthens digital literacy, workforce readiness, and artificial intelligence (AI) competency across the institution and community. This position plays a central role in helping employees, students of all ages including adult learners, and community partners understand and responsibly integrate AI tools into everyday workflows. Responsibilities include assessing training needs, developing instructional materials, facilitating workshops or one-on-one coaching, and supporting continuous improvement efforts that align with GC's strategic initiatives'including AI adoption, upskilling, and efficiencies that enhance the student experience. Contingent upon grant funding (four year grant) The salary range for this position is $53,418.24 to $80,127.36 per year.

Requirements

  • Two to five years of related experience in training, teaching, facilitation, instructional design, workforce development, or technology training.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills required. Must be able to explain complex AI concepts in clear, accessible language and build rapport with diverse learner groups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AI platforms (e.g., generative AI tools, data analysis tools), and e-learning systems.
  • Ability to translate technical content into practical, approachable learning experiences.
  • Knowledge of ethical AI use, digital safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to evaluate training outcomes and adjust content using continuous improvement practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI tools or digital literacy instruction preferred.
  • Master's degree or industry certifications (AI literacy certificates, CPLP, digital training credentials) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and maintains AI-focused training programs and materials
  • Creates structured training plans on topics such as AI literacy, responsible AI use, prompt engineering, workplace AI applications, student success tools, and emerging AI technologies.
  • Develops manuals, guides, PowerPoints, micro-learning modules, and hands-on practice scenarios tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Facilitates AI training sessions for employees, students, and community partners
  • Delivers engaging instruction in workshops, classrooms, virtual platforms, and one-on-one settings.
  • Demonstrates practical AI tools and models safe, ethical, and compliant use of AI aligned with institutional policy, state guidance, and GC’s Viking Values
  • Assesses digital and AI competency needs and evaluates training effectiveness
  • Conducts skill assessments, digital literacy screenings, and feedback surveys to identify gaps in AI readiness.
  • Analyzes outcomes to determine the impact of training sessions and revises content to improve effectiveness.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and individualized AI support
  • Supports employees and students in adopting AI tools that increase efficiency, improve communication, and enhance workflow.
  • Offers personalized guidance on integrating AI into instructional, administrative, and workforce settings.
  • Manages training logistics and compliance responsibilities
  • Coordinates scheduling, technology setup, venues, learning materials, and digital resources for all AI-related workshops.
  • Maintains accurate attendance records and ensures adherence to institutional policies, FERPA, cybersecurity guidelines, and responsible AI-use expectations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports college-wide digital transformation, workforce development initiatives.
