About The Position

The AI-Assisted Full-Stack Software Developer is responsible for building and improving the internal systems and marketplace technology that power Powered by MRP’s operations. As the company continues to scale, efficient and reliable software systems are critical to supporting sales, logistics, inventory management, and marketplace functionality. This role focuses on hands-on development across the full technology stack, including backend services, databases, APIs, and front-end interfaces. The developer will work primarily with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and AWS infrastructure while leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor IDE and other AI-powered coding workflows to accelerate development and problem solving. This role is ideal for a motivated early-career developer who enjoys building real-world systems, learning quickly, and using modern tools to move fast. Candidates do not need deep experience but should demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and a strong desire to learn. This is an individual contributor role that works closely with Product, Operations, and Engineering to build scalable systems that support the company’s marketplace and internal business operations.

Requirements

2+ years of software development experience or relevant projects/internships
Experience or familiarity with Ruby on Rails or similar web frameworks
Basic understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
Comfort working with modern development tools and version control (Git)
Interest in using AI-powered development tools to improve productivity
Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn quickly

Nice To Haves

Experience with Ruby on Rails development
Familiarity with PostgreSQL databases
Exposure to AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, etc.)
Experience with JavaScript and front-end web development
Experience using AI development tools such as Cursor IDE, GitHub Copilot, or similar coding assistants
Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations

Responsibilities

Build and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails
Develop backend services, APIs, and internal tools that support the company’s marketplace platform
Implement front-end features using modern JavaScript and web technologies
Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to code reviews and testing processes
Debug issues and help improve system reliability and performance
Use modern AI-powered development tools such as Cursor IDE and other coding assistants to accelerate development
Leverage AI tools to generate, review, refactor, and improve code
Help identify opportunities where AI-driven workflows can improve engineering productivity
Continuously experiment with new tools and approaches to improve development speed and quality
Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL to store and manage application data
Assist with database schema updates, migrations, and performance improvements
Support data integrity and system reliability across the platform
Assist with managing and deploying applications on AWS infrastructure
Work with services such as EC2, S3, and related AWS tools
Help monitor system performance and improve reliability as the platform grows
Build internal tools that improve operational efficiency for sales, logistics, and service teams
Automate repetitive tasks and workflows across business systems
Support integrations with third-party platforms such as Salesforce, JIRA, and other business systems
