About The Position

As a global leader in infrared sauna therapy, we are rapidly expanding and need a talented AI Applications Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of AI agents and the app surfaces that expose them. This person will build agent workflows from scratch, integrate enterprise systems, deploy/monitor in production, and make outcomes visible to business users keeping Sunlighten’s AI and BI initiatives moving. Requirements

  • 3–7 years building and shipping production software (integrations, services, and data systems) with strong ownership and a track record of clean, maintainable code.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Data, Software Engineering or equivalent experience with evidence of shipped systems (agents, automation, integrations, platforms).
  • Hands-on experience building or deploying agentic or LLM-based applications in production (experimentation, prototypes, or research alone is not sufficient).
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Solid SQL skills and proven experience with APIs and webhook patterns.
  • Azure fundamentals (identity/service principals, Key Vault, Functions/App Services).
  • Modern DevOps practices: Git, testing discipline, Docker, and CI/CD.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders and document systems for long-term ownership.
  • Execution focus; clean, maintainable code; strong ownership; stakeholder empathy; security/privacy-first mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Agent frameworks and platforms: OpenAI Agents SDK, Microsoft AI Foundry,LangChain, LangGraph, or similar.
  • Experience with observability tools (e.g., Grafana or Datadog) and cost controls.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse/Warehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines, SQL Server).
  • Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, and Five9.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI agents using agentic frameworks such as the OpenAI Agents SDK, LangChain/LangGraph, Microsoft AI Foundry/Copilot ecosystem, and similar tools.
  • Integrate AI agents with the following core business systems using APIs and webhooks to ensure seamless workflows: CRM/Support: Salesforce (Sales/Service/KB/Chat) ERP: NetSuite CCaaS: Five9 Commerce/Marketing: Shopify, Marketing Cloud Telemetry: ClickHouse/Postgres
  • Develop and maintain knowledge retrieval and RAG workflows, ensuring curated sources, traceable and fresh information, proper citations, and safe fallbacks when needed.
  • Own production readiness for AI applications, including CI/CD, version control, environment configuration, feature flags, rollbacks, monitoring, alerts, and runbooks to ensure reliability and maintainability.
  • Build lightweight user interfaces using React, React Native, or Power Apps to enable users to launch agents, approve actions, provide feedback, and maintain audit trails.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to refine prompt strategies, select models and parameters, conduct evaluations, perform red-teaming, and continuously improve AI system performance.
  • Ensure all AI solutions meet strong security and governance standards, including managing secrets via Azure Key Vault or 1Password, applying role-based access control and least-privilege principles, minimizing personal data (PII) use, and supporting audited privacy deletions within seven days.
