Ellucian is seeking an AI and Automation Deployment Intern to join our Professional Services organization. This role sits at the intersection of AI, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps. You will help design, deploy, and support automation and AI-enabled solutions in secure, scalable AWS environments. This is a hands-on, career-launching opportunity where you will gain real-world experience in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native deployment patterns. You will work alongside senior engineers and architects to deliver production-ready automation solutions that power digital transformation in higher education. Internship Duration: May 18th to August 7th Why This Role Matters AI and automation only create value when they are reliably deployed, secured, and scaled. This internship focuses on the engineering backbone that makes AI usable in enterprise environments.

Requirements

  • Academic background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Foundational understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
  • Exposure to DevOps concepts such as CI/CD, version control, branching strategies, and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code concepts.
  • Basic understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins and Bitbucket.
  • Exposure to Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
  • Experience working with AWS services through coursework or projects.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Exposure to containerization concepts such as Docker.
  • Awareness of cloud security best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Use Bitbucket for version control, code reviews, and branch management.
  • Contribute to Infrastructure as Code development using Terraform.
  • Support deployment of automation and AI services into AWS environments.
  • Help configure and manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, and VPC components.
  • Participate in environment provisioning, release management, and deployment validation.
  • Support monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting of deployed solutions.
  • Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure secure and repeatable deployments.
  • Maintain documentation for deployment patterns, environment setup, and operational runbooks.
  • Apply Agile practices and use Jira to track work and sprint progress.
