Location: Remote/Hybrid (Opportunity to work onsite in Hartsville, SC) Duration: 12 weeks (May – August) Reports to: Global Integrations & Analytics Solutions Role Overview: As an AI & Analytics Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and analysts to develop data-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and strategic decision-making across Sonoco’s global business units.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Python, R, SQL, or similar programming languages.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or project experience in analytics or AI is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI and analytics applications.
  • Assist in building predictive models, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools like Python, Power BI, and SQL.
  • Support the development and deployment of machine learning algorithms for business use cases.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and present actionable insights.
  • Participate in vendor selection and technology evaluation processes.
  • Document findings, create presentations, and share results with stakeholders.
  • Learn and apply principles of incident, change, and problem management in a corporate IT environment.
