About The Position

AdventHealth Medical Group Vascular Surgery at Orlando is offering a full-time opportunity for a Physician Assistant (PA-C). The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician, is responsible for first assisting the vascular surgeon in the operating room, performing hospital rounding, and conducting physical examinations of Peripheral and Vascular Surgery patients. Responsibilities include performing procedures such as THDC removal, drain removals, and stitch removals, as well as providing patient education on various vascular conditions. The role also involves formulating diagnoses, planning care, and managing patient care in the inpatient setting.

Requirements

  • Current, valid Florida APRN license/ PA license.
  • Certification through the ANCC, AANP (or equivalent certification body) or NCCPA.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Vascular experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • First assisting vascular surgeon in operating room, including suturing and drain placement.
  • Performing hospital rounding and physical examinations of Peripheral and Vascular Surgery patients.
  • Conducting new patient consults, pre and post-operative visits, and follow-up visits.
  • Performing procedures such as THDC removal, drain removals, and stitch removals.
  • Providing patient education on conditions like Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and Carotid Artery Disease.
  • Performing diagnostic procedures according to privileges and maintaining a log.
  • Enabling continuity of care by managing patient care in the inpatient setting.
  • Formulating appropriate diagnoses based on history, physical examination, and clinical findings.
  • Planning and providing care within the framework of policies and unit guidelines.
  • Ordering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies according to privileges.
  • Providing ongoing patient/family and staff education in inpatient and outpatient settings.
