Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current license as Paramedic in the State of Florida required OR Current license as an LPN or RN in the State of Florida
  • American Heart Association provider certification required for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS)
  • American Heart Association instructor certification required for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must be computer literate and have ability to use email, and online programs regarding training classes and documentation
  • Minimum 2 years American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS instructor certification required
  • Minimum 2 years recent pre-hospital emergency medical services (EMS) response required

Responsibilities

  • Teach AHA certification classes effectively and with enthusiasm to engage students
  • Facilitate video presentations, instructor lectures, skills demonstrations, testing students, answering questions, remediating when appropriate, and completing post-course rosters, paperwork
  • Physically demonstrate correct mannequin skills on all mannequins (infant, child, adult) on the ground/floor and table
  • Submit all required documentation timely
  • Set up, clean, and store equipment appropriately and independently
  • Communicate effectively with AHA Coordinator, Clinical Education Director, fellow instructors, and UFHCF Team Members
