About The Position

The AHA CPR Instructor plays a critical role in educating individuals and groups on lifesaving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques and emergency cardiovascular care based on American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive training sessions that empower participants to respond effectively in emergency situations, thereby improving community health outcomes. The instructor ensures that all course content is current, accurate, and compliant with AHA standards, fostering a safe and engaging learning environment. By assessing participant performance and providing constructive feedback, the instructor helps build confidence and competence in CPR skills. Ultimately, this role contributes to saving lives by preparing individuals to act swiftly and correctly during cardiac emergencies across diverse settings in the United States.

Requirements

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CPR and emergency cardiovascular care techniques.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple training sessions and maintain accurate certification records.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching CPR and emergency care courses in healthcare or community settings.
  • Additional AHA instructor certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Background in healthcare, emergency response, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Proficiency with digital learning platforms and virtual training delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct AHA-approved CPR and emergency cardiovascular care training courses for healthcare providers and laypersons.
  • Prepare and maintain instructional materials, including manuals, videos, and equipment, to ensure effective course delivery.
  • Evaluate participant skills through practical demonstrations and written assessments to certify competency.
  • Stay updated with the latest AHA guidelines and incorporate changes into training sessions promptly.
  • Manage course logistics such as scheduling, registration, and record-keeping to maintain compliance with certification requirements.
  • Provide clear, empathetic communication to accommodate diverse learner needs and promote an inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare organizations, schools, and community groups to expand CPR training outreach.
