About The Position

The ACLS and PALS Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and comprehensive training to healthcare professionals in both ACLS and PALS courses. The instructor will ensure that participants understand advanced life-saving techniques and are proficient in applying them in critical care settings, including for pediatric and adult patients.

Requirements

Current and valid AHA ACLS and PALS Instructor certifications.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an emergency, critical care, or pediatric care setting.
Strong knowledge of ACLS and PALS guidelines and protocols.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse audience.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
Must be comfortable working with adult and pediatric patients in simulated emergency scenarios.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification (or ability to obtain within [insert time frame]).

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching ACLS and/or PALS courses in a healthcare setting.
Certification in other life support courses (e.g., NRP, BLS).
Experience in simulation-based training.
Master's degree in nursing, emergency medical services, or related field.

Responsibilities

Delivering Training: Conduct ACLS and PALS courses for healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to the latest American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and protocols.
Preparation of Materials: Organize and review training materials, including textbooks, case studies, and audiovisual presentations, to ensure that all content is up-to-date and relevant.
Skill Evaluation: Assess participants' knowledge and skills through written exams, practical evaluations, and simulations to ensure that they meet competency standards.
Hands-On Practice: Lead scenario-based training and practical sessions to improve participants' proficiency in critical life-saving techniques such as CPR, defibrillation, airway management, and pharmacology.
Provide Feedback: Offer constructive feedback to participants on their performance, emphasizing areas for improvement and reinforcing best practices.
Maintain Certifications: Stay current with ACLS and PALS certifications and attend ongoing professional development as required by the AHA or equivalent certification body.
Classroom Management: Ensure a positive and professional learning environment, encouraging active participation and fostering a culture of safety and respect.
Administration & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of course attendance, assessments, and certifications. Ensure timely reporting and compliance with accreditation standards.
Customer Support: Provide ongoing support and assistance to course participants regarding course content, certifications, and future training opportunities.
