Agronomy Internship
About The Position
Cherry Hills Country Club is looking for its 2026 class of interns who are eager to learn, work hard, and enjoy all that Denver, Colorado has to offer. Cherry Hills Country Club is home to an 18-hole championship golf course and features a 9-hole short course. The club was established in 1922, designed by William Flynn, and has hosted 14 championships, highlighted by the recent 2023 U.S. Amateur. Champions include the likes of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, Birdie Kim, and Nick Dunlap. The course consists of bent/ poa push-up greens with fairways, tees, and rough that are poa/ rye/ blue and we are currently undergoing the addition of fine fescue to much of the exisiting roughs. Our goal is to provide you with the experience necessary to take the next steps in your turfgrass career. Expectations of the club and our membership are extremely high, and we work hard to meet and exceed those expectations. A successful candidate is hard working, eager to learn, and a team player.
Responsibilities
- Sprayer and spreader calibration
- Chemical and fertilizer application
- Water management, hand watering
- Irrigation maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and improvements
- Course set-up
- Mowing of all playing surfaces
- Aerifcation and cultural practices (verticutting, needle-tining, topdressing, etc.)
- Equipment operation on all machinery
- Partake in projects and small crew management
