About The Position

Country Visions is a farmer owned cooperative. The agronomy division provides products, services, and knowledge for farmers to successfully grow crops in their fields. The Agronomy Intern will be responsible for providing support to our agronomists during the growing season. These tasks will include scouting crop fields for weeds, insects, disease, nutrient deficiencies, collecting plant tissue samples, collecting soil samples, and managing agronomic trials. Agronomy Interns will be trained and mentored by agronomists. They will also participate in the Country Visions internship program which consists of several scheduled group trainings for related tasks and subjects throughout the summer. Agronomy Interns will also be responsible for completing an agronomic project throughout the duration of their internship to showcase their educational experience. Interns will receive essential industry experience and knowledge for a successful long-term career. A successful individual will be able to understand the seed, fertilizer, and chemical products used, the reason for them being applied, and communicate effectively with agronomists to ensure quality service for our customers. Agronomy Interns are expected to act as a promoter of Country Visions Cooperative in all customer and employee interactions as well as demonstrating a high quality of work in all tasks performed. Successful results could lead to a fulltime employment offer.

Requirements

  • Must be attending a place of higher education and studying agronomy or a related field.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to perform work in varying climates, indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to work some extended hours during the spring planting season.
