About The Position

The Agronomy Intern works closely with the Bingham Ag Service Agronomy Team to support and learn hands-on skills related to Sales and Plant operations. As the Agronomy Intern, you will gain exposure to all facets of our fertilizer operation through field work, research projects, and educational opportunities.

Requirements

  • Are pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree in agronomy, crop science or related field.
  • A valid drivers license or the ability to obtain one and pass vehicle insurance verification.
  • Able to learn company systems and processes.
  • Adheres to the companys values and ethical expectations.
  • Able to effectively multitask.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to use Microsoft Suite

Responsibilities

  • Support the Agronomy Team with weekly pest scouting, crop management and irrigation scheduling.
  • Assist with daily plant operations, blending, weighing trucks, invoicing, etc.
  • Participate in data collection of R&D test plots, and evaluation of on-farm research.
  • Assist with irrigation system scheduling and soil moisture management.
  • Gain experience in pesticide/fertilizer programs and planning
  • Deliver and present to management a summary of observations from field scouting and R&D efforts.
  • Observe field operations as it relates to potato planting, harvesting, etc.
  • Take on other tasks and responsibilities, as needed.
  • Follow company safety standards and report issues.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in completion of required paperwork as directed.
  • Able to work on a cross functional team
