About The Position

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. Summary The Agronomy Intern is part of the Plant Sciences research team and supports activities aimed toward improving agricultural crops. The work week would be a 5 day, 8 hour-per-day schedule.

Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or university in Biology, Plant Sciences, Agronomy, or Agricultural Sciences

Responsibilities

Assist with planning, planting, and monitoring field trials for biotech potato lines.
Help collect data on plant performance, disease resistance, and other traits.
Organize and analyze trial data using Excel or statistical software.
Help prepare charts, summaries, and presentations for internal teams.
Participate in greenhouse experiments and plant care.
Support basic plant pathology tasks, such as disease scoring or sample preparation.
Help compile trial results and documentation needed for regulatory submissions.
Learn about compliance standards and biotech crop approval processes.
Work closely with scientists, agronomists, and regulatory specialists.
Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions on trial progress and commercialization strategy.
