About The Position

Agronomy internships are available at locations throughout NEW Cooperative's trade territory. NEW Cooperative is a leading agricultural cooperative providing innovative solutions & services to our customers in North, Central, and Western Iowa. We're seeking the right individuals to join our team as summer agronomy interns. You will be responsible for providing vital agronomic solutions and information to our customers in various ways, which may include crop scouting, managing and overseeing NEW's test plot system, conducting field research and learning plot research, grid soil sampling, and other agronomic experiences including treating seed, product delivery, interaction with producers, warehouse experience, and more! As a part of your internship experience, you will be assigned a project to plan and complete, which may include conducting research, interviews and testing ideas. This is your opportunity to learn hands-on! The topic of the project will be determined based on your interests and available opportunities within the company.

Requirements

• Team-oriented and hard working
• Strong communication, leadership, and time-management skills
• Valid driver's license
• Working towards a 2-year or 4-year college degree in agriculture
• Strong willingness to learn throughout the summer

Nice To Haves

• Previous agronomy experience (not required but preferred)

Responsibilities

• Crop scouting and presenting findings to sales team and producers
• Managing and overseeing NEW's test plot system
• Conducting field research and learning plot research, and presenting findings to growers
• Grid soil sampling and learning soil fertility fundamentals
• Other agronomic experiences including treating seed, product delivery, interaction with producers, warehouse experience, and more
