About The Position

This position provides essential support for the successful operation of production-scale farming [commodities of wheat, grain sorghum, silage, and hay] under the direction of a farmer. The Northwest Research-Extension Center farm production team is responsible for performing all common agronomic tasks associated with crop production, including, but not limited to pesticide application, tillage, planting, irrigation, and harvesting.

Requirements

• One year of relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license that permits operation of automobiles, pickup trucks, and farm trucks.
• Certified, or willing to become certified in the application of restricted-use pesticides within the first 6 months of employment.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Nice To Haves

• BS degree preferred plus three years' experience in large-scale farming operations.
• Vocational training in the safe and proper use of pesticides.
• Ability to drive large and small farm equipment safely and skillfully.
