About The Position

The County of San Diego is seeking an entry-level Agricultural/Standards Inspector to join the Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures (AWM). This role involves performing professional-level technical inspections to ensure compliance with agricultural, weights, and measures laws, thereby protecting consumers and the agricultural industry. Requirements

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in agricultural, biological, chemical, or physical sciences, or a related field with at least 30 semester units in relevant disciplines.
• Qualification to take the licensing examination for County Agricultural Inspector or County Weights and Measures Inspector.
• Possession of valid statewide specific category licenses as a County Agricultural Inspector/Biologist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regulate organic growers and certified farmers' markets.
• Verify the accuracy of packaged goods and commercial weighing and measuring devices.
