About The Position

Morris, Inc. is seeking a skilled individual to independently perform advanced diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer- and dealer-owned center pivot irrigation equipment, as well as facility electrical systems. This role may require occasional direction or collaboration with the Department Manager or Foreman.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time
  • Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred in electrical program
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred
  • SD Electrical license, apprentice level minimum, preferred or able to obtain
  • Reinke Plus certification preferred or able to obtain
  • Forklift and small equipment experience

Responsibilities

  • Performs installation, maintenance, and performs diagnostics and repairs on center pivot irrigation systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with pivot functionality
  • Track time spent on projects as well as materials used in performing repairs, and completes necessary reports for those repairs
  • Participate in continuing education and training for the development of skills and knowledge
  • Conducts or supports customer clinics and training
  • Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
  • Maintains a clean work area and/or service vehicle, and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Maintain condition of rolling stock
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service in a professional manner while performing repairs and diagnostics for customers
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical control, wiring and lighting systems
  • Performing general electrical maintenance
  • Inspecting transformers, circuit breakers, electric motors and other electrical components
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
  • Follow the National Electrical Code state and local building regulations
  • Maintaining good knowledge of VFD and control systems as well as various testing equipment
  • Be aware of wear on parts, or other irregularities, and report it to the supervisor.
  • Perform daily maintenance on equipment (grease, fuel and check all fuel levels).
  • Load and unload pipe or other materials with fork attachments, backfill, and support pipe crew Handling, fitting, installing pipe and associated appurtenances as directed by supervisor
  • Operate machine consistent with safety policies of the company as well as any rules and regulations required by state and federal safety standards.
  • Will perform some prep work, getting areas ready for actual work.
  • Operate small equipment as deemed necessary – ex: forklift, telehandler, skid steer
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
