Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering design and project management.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Experience with water resources projects.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and permitting processes.
  • Knowledge of sustainable engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently on smaller projects and as a team member of larger projects.
  • Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project.
  • Perform a variety of complex tasks including calculations, field work, and coordination of tasks and personnel.
  • Analyze proposed projects to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Serve as Engineer-of-Record.
  • Perform complex engineering design tasks under supervision, including engineering drawings and reports.
  • Engage in the development of design through sketches, electronic models, and diagrams.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases including site plans and grading plans.
  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in client project requirement meetings and cost estimating.
  • Involved in the permitting process of projects, requiring meetings with clients and governing entities.
  • Manage and lead other team members on projects, delegating tasks as appropriate.
  • Assist senior engineers with project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule management.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents.
  • Prepare contract documents for construction including engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and conduct quality assurance on projects.
  • Assist in the development of new standards and specifications for the discipline.
  • Prepare portions of engineering project proposals and client communications.
  • Support the civil team during construction with submittal reviews and contract clarifications.
