About The Position

The Agricultural Equipment Operator position involves operating various types of agricultural machinery, including tractors and self-propelled equipment, to perform essential farming tasks such as planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops. The role requires maintaining equipment, transporting materials, and ensuring the cleanliness of work areas. This position is seasonal and based in Kalamazoo County, Michigan, with a work schedule of 48 hours per week, primarily from Monday to Saturday.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 months of verifiable experience in operating agricultural machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tractors and self-propelled machinery equipped with GPS.
  • Plow, harrow, and fertilize soil, and plant, cultivate, spray, and harvest crops such as corn and soybeans.
  • Load inputs and drive trucks to transport materials to fields and storage facilities.
  • Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping.
  • Regulate conditions and maintain inventory.
  • Haul and spread inputs like water and fertilizer to condition soil.
  • Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures.
  • Mix materials and dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery.
