About The Position

The Agricultural Engineering Intern will support the design, evaluation, and improvement of engineering systems used in commercial turfgrass production. This internship offers hands-on experience applying engineering principles to real-world agricultural operations. Working closely with farm managers, agronomists, and operations teams, the intern will assist with projects aimed at increasing efficiency, sustainability, and productivity across turfgrass production fields. This role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in agricultural engineering, biological systems engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field who are interested in agricultural systems and applied field engineering.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret data and identify trends or inefficiencies.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Interest in farm machinery, irrigation systems, and infrastructure design.
  • Ability to understand how mechanical, electrical, and environmental systems interact.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Accurate documentation and data entry.
  • Commitment to precision in measurements and reporting.
  • Customer Service experience
  • Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals
  • Ability to solve practical industry related problems.
  • Professional or educational experience in agricultural engineering, biological systems engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field who are interested in agricultural systems and applied field engineering.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze operational data related to water usage, fuel consumption, field productivity, and system efficiency.
  • Use spreadsheets or software tools to develop reports and performance summaries.
  • Support mapping and GPS-based field data analysis where applicable.
  • Assist in evaluating precision agriculture technologies
  • Support pilot projects involving sensors, telemetry systems, or equipment automation.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and engineering standards.
  • Support documentation efforts related to regulatory or environmental compliance.
