About The Position

Develop a working knowledge of the lending function through on-the-job training in order to generate and maintain quality loans that contribute to the bank growth objectives and profitability benchmarks. Acquire knowledge and experience to demonstrate the ability to cultivate quality credit relations with existing and prospective loan customers within bank policy and regulatory requirements. Responsible to support the bank’s strategic objectives by performing duties to the highest of standards set forth by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or industry experience.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with both customers and other employees
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid accounting and math skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with time pressures and stress that can change rapidly dependent on staffing levels as well as customer activity.
  • Good organizational skills, to include re-prioritizing day-to-day tasks to accommodate the needs of both customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and to compose business correspondence and reports.
  • Strong sense of attention to detail
  • Willingness to assume responsibility.
  • Maintain the integrity of highly confidential customer and Bank financial information.
  • Reasonably regular and predictable attendance.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the credit function of the bank through participation in various training opportunities both internally and externally.
  • Develop and maintain the required skills and working knowledge of the lending function required to effectively cultivate quality credit relations.
  • Develop knowledge to gather, analyze and evaluate information required to make a quality loan decision in accordance with bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and to methodically utilize credit application evaluation and underwriting procedures that are aligned with bank loan policy and banking practices accepted within an evolving regulatory framework.
  • Develop knowledge to maintain records and documentation to ensure accurate information is available to complete loan and credit files.
  • Develop knowledge to communicate proactively with borrowers and third parties to ensure loan related tasks are completed according to established deadlines and effectively with customers by disclosing all terms and conditions of a loan and provide guidance and clarity ensuring full understanding by the customer.
  • Develop knowledge to assess and advise customers on financial products; provide financial literacy in order for customers to manage their personal finances; explain the different types of loans, credit options and terms of those services; and invite customers to consider utilizing those products/services to satisfy their financial needs. Effectively help customers achieve their financial goals by providing customer service that models the values of integrity, flexibility, helpfulness, proficiency and commitment.
  • Develop knowledge to minimize past due loans by ensuring safety and soundness through special attention to past due and questionable credits and participate in the collection procedures and processes of the loan officers to assure the timely collection of all delinquent accounts and develop revised loan repayment terms or schedules as necessary.
  • Develop knowledge to utilize government programs when deemed necessary to meet customer's credit needs.
  • Develop knowledge to establish and maintain positive working relationships with loan businesses and other organizations to provide information regarding the lending programs and policies.
  • Develop knowledge to participate in the Bank's business development activities, represent the Bank in industry and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc., and promote the Bank's favorable image.
  • Actively participate in an officer call program to service existing customer and for business development in regard to loans and deposits.
