About The Position

In this Aging Care Manager 3 role, you will perform a variety of tasks as an Aging Protective Services Investigator to assist and protect Luzerne and Wyoming County residents who are 60 years of age and older. Your duties will involve recording reports of need for protective services and determining the category of need and priority; investigating all allegations of abuse in all categories; conducting face-to-face interviews with the older adult and all collateral contacts, including the alleged perpetrator; and collecting all necessary evidence and documents. All work must be completed within regulatory timeframes. Our team will rely on you to take necessary action to ensure the safety of the older adult on all cases. Responsibilities also include arranging for aging services for the older adult, assuring medical intervention for the older adult, assisting with a protection of abuse order, assisting with an eviction notice at the magistrates, assisting with placement for the older adult, applying for representative payee, and any other actions necessary to protect the older adult. This involves collaborating with other agencies and entities, from law enforcement and financial institutions to the medical community and other social service agencies, to bring each case to a safe and satisfactory conclusion. Requirements

  • One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or
  • One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
