About The Position
Lehigh County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is seeking a proficient, hard-working Aging Care Manager 3 with a desire to assist our valued senior residents in leading safe and healthy lives. This position is part of the Protective Services Unit which provides specialized casework services to at risk clients 60 years of age and older under the Older Adults Protective Services Act. As an Aging Care Manager 3 with the Protective Services Unit, work will be centered around providing protective services for clients who are in danger of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment and who are having difficulty maintaining a safe and healthful independent lifestyle. You will be responsible for promptly investigating referrals in accordance with protective services legislation, rules, regulations, and operating procedures of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Investigations entail obtaining a wide-range of assessment information, preparing case histories, and determining eligibility for services. Additional duties also involve recommending cases that require court intervention such as guardianships, protective services interventions, and petitions for mental health commitments. For such cases, you will be tasked with obtaining necessary documentation and preparing for court hearings, court testimony, and additional correspondence with a variety of relevant and involved parties. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be interacting with consumers and their family members, as well as other specialized medical, mental health, judiciary, and law enforcement professionals.
