About The Position

i3 is seeking a motivated Agile Systems Engineer to support the development and fielding of advanced Launched Effects (LE) platforms. In this role, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team of engineers, working collaboratively to integrate essential technologies and ensure these systems meet the rigorous demands of the modern battlefield. This position will employ Agile methodologies to accelerate and promote rapid procurement, iteration, improvement and fielding of Launched Effects platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a technical related field.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with systems engineering methodologies and iterative development processes.
  • Knowledge of system architecture and design principles for military systems.
  • Understanding of uncrewed systems technologies and applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain such is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Army Uncrewed Launched Effects systems or related technologies.
  • Preferred five (5) years or more experience in Department of Defense (DoD) technology or a related field.
  • Familiarity with military standards and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello).
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative testing.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C++).
  • Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist).

Responsibilities

  • Systems Engineering Leadership: Provided engineering expertise to support and lead an Integrated Product Team (IPT)/Engineering Team
  • Provide technical expertise to the personnel engaged in the management and execution of one or more life cycle phases of LE systems development.
  • Technical planning activities.
  • Technical review activities.
  • Agile systems engineering process development, maturity, and execution.
  • Defining system functional and performance requirements.
  • Providing systems engineering advice and determining feasibility of new design concepts.
  • Apply Agile methodologies to systems engineering processes, emphasizing iterative development, rapid prototyping, and continuous feedback loops.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between system requirements, design, and operational needs.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to drive progress and accountability.
  • Conduct system analysis to identify potential risks, bottlenecks, and performance issues.
  • Design and optimize system architectures based on iterative feedback and operational requirements, considering factors such as lethality, survivability, and mission effectiveness.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including program managers, contractors, and end-users, to ensure systems meet mission requirements.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and transparency across teams.
  • Develop and execute test plans/experiments to validate system behavior in various operational scenarios.
  • Analyze test data to identify trends, insights, and potential improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards and specifications.
