About The Position

The Agile Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering enterprise initiatives using Agile and Scrum methodologies within the PMO governance framework. This role ensures that projects and sprint-based work efforts are executed in alignment with MVFCU's strategic goals, are transparent to stakeholders, and result in high-quality, incremental value delivery. The Agile Project Manager promotes cross-functional collaboration, facilitates Agile ceremonies, removes impediments, and supports continuous improvement for teams involved in enterprise initiatives. Responsibilities are executed promptly, collaboratively, and in a manner that supports organizational objectives and strengthens member and employee experience.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Agile practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid agile delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies, coach teams, and promote continuous improvement.

  • Ability to communicate effectively—both verbally and in writing—with business and technical audiences.
  • Ability to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Experience using Agile project management tools such as Jira, Asana, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to operate with limited supervision while demonstrating sound judgment, accountability, and ownership.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, management, information systems, or related discipline; or equivalent experience. Agile or project management certifications preferred (CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe, CAPM, PMP, etc.).
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience managing Agile or hybrid projects of increasing complexity. Experience working with cross-functional teams and coordinating work across business and technical departments. Experience with Scrum tools such as Jira highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates Agile and Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Maintains the product roadmap, ensuring Epics, Features, and Stories are clearly defined, prioritized, estimated, and aligned with PMO governance standards.
  • Collaborates with Product Owners, business units, and the PMO to define project scope, business value, acceptance criteria, and success metrics.
  • Coordinates delivery activities across cross-functional teams, including IT, DevOps, System Administration, Lending, Accounting, Contact Center, and Branch Operations.
  • Ensures timely and accurate visibility of project and sprint progress through Jira dashboards, PMO portfolio reports, and standardized status updates.
  • Identifies project stakeholders, manages expectations, and ensures proactive communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manages dependencies, risks, and impediments; escalates items promptly when support is required.
  • Helps ensure organizational capacity planning is accurate by tracking velocity, sprint commitments, and resource allocation.
  • Supports PMO governance through standardized reporting, adherence to intake processes, and participation in portfolio prioritization.
  • Develops and maintains documentation including project charters, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and change control items.
  • Partners with vendors as needed to coordinate integrations, implementations, testing cycles, and production releases.
  • Provides the Director of PMO & Delivery with monthly reports outlining progress, risks, accomplishments, and team performance indicators.
  • Performs other related duties and provides PMO support as assigned.
